July 2009

July has been filled with more running, but lots more relaxing. We spent a wonderful evening with the family for the 4th of July in Idaho Falls and watched the fireworks. Anakela has been a part of 4h with the horses, so we have spent countless hours on the back of horses and many of our precious Saturdays have been filled to the brim with horse stuff.
All the kids have developed their skills better, even Kalina will want a ride and then you can't get her off. Leilani and Jud are learning to be more than a passenger on a horse, we are excited about their progress. Connor enjoys being a cowboy and recently was passed down a duster and cowboy boots, he is starting to swing a rope and ride without his big sister.
Anakela showed her second year in the Bonneville County Horse show and we are pleased with her progress and determination, it was fun to see the relationships she build with the other riders and her family. Jason and Jud went to scout camp, and they were able to enjoy themselves and learn lots, Jason became the cook and of course everyone ate well.
Two of my most enjoyable rides have been to the local ski resort with a great friend with the horses and going along the river - we were within about 50 feet of a bald eagle that flew above our heads it was gorgeous and reminded me how simple life can be.
As we wind down the summer a trip to Utah for Leilani is in the works and school will start back up at the end of August. We are also going to try to squeeze in a camping trip, hopefully it will happen. It seems almost a dream that this summer has passed on so quickly. We have played and worked very hard. Jason turned 35 this year and as a birthday present for the next ten years he has received his life long dream of the truck he has always wanted.
We are all doing well and hope that we will be able to meet up with as much family as possible over the next few months. We love you all, April
